Gearing Up for the Tower Rodeo

Inside Towers – Gearing up for the Rodeo

It’s all systems go for Kathy Gill and her Tower Rodeo December 4-5, in Phoenix. The TRX Challenge, Gill’s creative effort at putting tower crews through some safety skills contests is “on” while taking all due precautions. The entire event will be staged outdoors at Gill’s tower safety training campus with side activity and refreshments served in open bay warehouses on the site.

The CEO of Tower Safety & Rescue is taking no chances with the health of her guests or participants by following the CDC and Arizona Dept. of Health Services guidelines. Yesterday she issued the following statement:

“During this challenging time of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, we at the TRx Challenge are making some temporary changes to keep our Challengers, volunteers, and bystanders safe.”

The TRx Challenge staff will be taking temperatures prior to entering the event. After signing a COVID-19 waiver, masks and hand sanitizers will be available, and frequent hand washing is recommended, according to Gill. She suggests if attendees are experiencing any of the following symptoms, she asks that they please stay home and contact a healthcare official.

  • Cough AND a fever of 100.4 or higher
  • OR have shortness of breath
  • OR have been someplace where the coronavirus is widespread in the past two weeks
  • OR have had contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
